Music – the sound of the soul…

Yesterday I fell into the glorious experience of jamming on guitars with my soon to be 18 year old son, Jon, for the first time…

We had been out and bought guitars together.

Jon has been playing Ukelele WELL for over a year… and as I hear the sounds of his heart pouring out from his bedroom to songs of his own creation as well as his take on poplular and old school tunes it warms my heart as I remembered this as one of my own favourite forms of self therapy during my teenage years…

I found that self healing was aided by time and also by self expression of what was going on inside of me through song…

The coolest thing was looking up into his eyes half way through while we were both singing & playing in synchronicity .. where the energy was amazing, somehow blending between the 2 of us in the ethers…
I glanced up and saw the joy in his eyes and recognised it as our blended joy glowing back at me through his eyes… truly magical…

My guitar brought me such solace during my teenage years.. and to be able to share that through the air with Jonathon was amazing… I love you JJ truly.

I feel this will lead to some healing family jams coming up with Cameron the lads and our friends… I am a great believer in groups singing together to lift the soul as we do on Kirtan nights with our guest musicians…
